Saudi Arabia Family Visa

Types of Saudi Family Visas

1. Family Visit Visa
The Family Visit Visa is ideal for short-term visits to close family members — such as spouses, parents, or children — living in Saudi Arabia.
It may be issued as a single-entry or multiple-entry visa, depending on the Saudi sponsor’s request and MOFA approval.

2. Family Residence Visa (Iqama-Dependent Visa)
The Family Residence Visa allows dependents of Saudi residents or citizens to live in the Kingdom long-term.
After arrival in Saudi Arabia, dependents can obtain their official residence permit (Iqama) to stay legally under their family sponsor.

Who Can Apply from Canada

Canadian Citizens
Canadian nationals are eligible to apply if their immediate family member — such as a spouse, parent, or child — is either a Saudi citizen or a foreign resident in Saudi Arabia holding a valid Iqama (residence permit).

Foreign Residents in Canada
Foreign nationals living in Canada with a valid residence permit or long-term visa may also apply, provided their family member in Saudi Arabia is authorized to sponsor dependents or visitors.

Saudi Visa Agency supports both Canadian citizens and foreign residents by managing document preparation, attestation, and submission to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, ensuring a smooth and timely approval process.

FAQs

1. How long does the process take in Canada?
Processing usually takes 5 to 10 business days once all required documents are complete and submitted to the Saudi Embassy.

2. Can I apply for my spouse and children together?
Yes. You can apply for multiple family members under one MOFA authorization, as long as all documents are correctly prepared and attested.

3. What’s the difference between a Family Visit Visa and a Family Residence Visa?
A Family Visit Visa is temporary (valid for up to 90 days per entry), while a Family Residence Visa allows your dependents to live with you long-term in Saudi Arabia.

4. Do I need a medical test for a Family Visa?
Medical tests are only required for Family Residence Visas, not for short-term Family Visit Visas.
